Sunset Abseiling
Join us for a unique sunset abseiling adventure in Malta. You will learn how to descend safely from the top of a cliff while watching the sky change colours as the sun sets. It is a calm, enjoyable activity with beautiful views and just the right amount of challenge. A perfect way to end the day. Our sessions start on shorter routes. This helps you learn the technique and trust the equipment. When you feel ready, we progress to higher descents. With guidance from our experienced instructors, you will build confidence quickly. You will also enjoy the satisfaction of being in control while surrounded by Malta’s natural scenery. Whether it is your first time or you already have some experience, this activity offers a rewarding challenge for every level.

What Is Abseiling?
Abseiling is an exciting way to descend a rock face using ropes, a harness and specialised safety equipment. With guidance from an experienced instructor, you’ll learn how to control your descent as you make your way down the cliff, taking in the impressive surroundings along the way. It’s a great way to challenge yourself, build confidence and experience Malta’s cliffs up close, with no previous experience required.

What to Expect on Your Abseiling Adventure​
Your guide will meet you at the abseiling location, where you’ll receive a full safety briefing and instructions on how to use the equipment and control your descent. Once you’re geared up and ready, it’s time to head over to the cliff edge and give abseiling a try!
Throughout the session, you’ll have the opportunity to explore different routes, varying in height and difficulty, allowing you to gradually build your confidence and challenge yourself at your own pace. After each descent, you’ll simply walk back up to the starting point and get ready for another route. Your guide will be there throughout the experience, providing support and encouragement along the way.

Do I need any previous abseiling experience?
Not at all! Our abseiling sessions are suitable for complete beginners. Your guide will explain how to use the equipment, demonstrate the correct technique and provide a full safety briefing before your first descent.
Is abseiling safe?
Abseiling is carried out using professional climbing equipment, including ropes, harnesses and helmets. Our experienced guides supervise the activity, explain the safety procedures and provide support throughout. As with any outdoor adventure, there are some inherent risks, so following your guide’s instructions is essential.
What if I'm afraid of heights?
It’s completely normal to feel a little nervous, especially before your first descent! You’ll receive clear instructions and encouragement, and you can start with an easier route to build your confidence. There’s no pressure to attempt a descent you’re uncomfortable with.
How many times can I abseil during the session?
You’ll have the opportunity to complete multiple descents during the session, depending on the group size, available routes and your pace. After each descent, you can walk back up to the starting point and try another route.
Do I need to be physically fit?
You don’t need to be particularly athletic to enjoy abseiling. However, you should be comfortable walking on uneven, rocky terrain and making your way back uphill after each descent. A basic level of mobility and fitness is recommended.
What should I wear for abseiling?
Wear comfortable sportswear that allows you to move freely, along with sturdy trainers or hiking shoes with good grip. Please avoid flip-flops, sandals and loose footwear. We also recommend bringing drinking water and sunscreen.
Is there a weight limit for abseiling?
Weight restrictions may apply depending on the equipment and location. If you have any concerns about suitability, please contact us before booking so we can advise you.
What happens if the weather is unsuitable?
Abseiling is weather-dependent, particularly when strong winds, rain or slippery rock conditions could affect safety. If conditions are unsuitable, we may need to reschedule, offer an alternative activity or cancel the session in accordance with our booking terms.
